Hello Jerry What a gorgeous place you have! I would agree that it is very difficult, nay impossible, to find a set-and-forget level for a subwoofer, nor is there a right and wrong in how a system sounds. Personal taste comes into it, as does all the other stuff like the source, room acoustics... The most important thing is to go with what you like

I must admit I'd not seen it, but have thought about it in the past. It makes a lot of sense. Finally 2-way remotes with decent battery life, no LOS problems, and of course modern displays. Build it into an iPhone, and......

Yes, I tend to do that. Otherwise the VC rubs on the polepiece and your unit sounds terrible and eventually dies... Sometimes I cheat and do it without, and just feel my way, but that is a much better way to do it.
