  • Re: Comments on the new BV4 with BS3

Hi Weebyx, I thought a humming noise was peculiar to plasma panels. Some people have experienced it with the Pioneer Kuro,so make sure you don't jump from the frying pan into the fire. If you are contemplating a Kuro, have a look at the KRP models due imminently. They, unlike the 50/6090s,have a "Pure" setting which switches off the TV's

  • Re: BV7-40 Bluray?

Presumably still being sold at a profit, the HDDVD version of Batman Begins is on sale for £5 (Amazon UK) compared to £12 for the Blu-ray version(AxelMusic). It begs the question, now that the competition from HDDVD has been eliminated, what incentive is there to produce Blu-ray discs at more affordable prices?

beojeff: It really surprises me how many B&O users on this forum are against blu-ray. I have 2 Beocinema setups: one with a Sim 2 projector and another with a Runco projector -- all connected to my Beolink network. I have well over 100 BD movies and BD players connected to each projector. I find that the BD players are essential for maximizing the

My german is not brilliant, but the last post appears to be saying that nothing official has been heard, and that it appears to be a poor joke.

Hi RussR, yes,LCD is the major seller, but it is generally accepted that Plasma's PQ is superior. Yes,Pioneer will be purchasing panels from Panasonic for it's 10G Plasma models, but they will presumably be made to Pioneer's specfication, just as they are for B & O,and were for Fujitsu. Presumably, the same will be true for the Sharp supplied

Does one really think that the likes of Panasonic will quickly write off their massive investment in LCD,and Plasma, Panel manufacturing plant? Is one really saying that the development of LCD,and Plasma,PQ has been taken as far as it can go? Witness the massive improvement of Pioneer's 9G over their 8G. How long will it take for OLED to have the

  • What could B & O offer as a sales incentive?

Given the current economic downturn, and the imminent price increase,I was wondering what sales incentive(s) B & O could offer to attract potential buyers. Two possibilities spring to mind, viz a standard 5 years warranty, and, where required, free firmware updates during the warranty period. The latter would naturally become less, and less, necessary

  • Re: Software updates - should I have to pay?

moxxey: TerryM: Well,I must be fortunate in that my local dealer does not charge for firmware updates. Terry, is your dealer situation like mine? My dealer currently employes their engineers so they do not need to 'pay' a fee just to update the sw - they are paid a daily wage whether they are busy or not. However, this is due to change. Our
