  • Re: Beo 5 Countdown- who get the first one...?

Today I had a nice chat with my local dealer and we spent some time to go through the "Beo5 Configuration Module". First, the software is for authorized dealers only, not for customers (at the moment). You have to enter a Beo5 serial number into the software that's online and connected to the B&O server where your configuration is

Hmm..touching my Beo5 until the grease spreads evenly...That's at least one thing I can do until my dealer is able to install the new software.

Thanks for cheering me up, Peter. I have no doubt, that my dealer will perform several setups for my Beo5, free of charge. I didn't want to judge the Beo5, and paying 500 € for a RC, that is not programmable at the moment, is my commitment to B&O. I'm looking forward that my dealer will be able to fix the issues. As a tech guy on the

Realizing that I have to bring my Beo5 to a dealer, whenever I want to make changes in the software is quite dissapointing. At the moment my Beo5 with it's basic settings has not more capabilities than a Beo4.

Got mine today in Germany. I wasn't expecting to get one so fast. By coincidence my dealer received the first two of them today and I bought one. The reps in the B&O store were pretty much confused about the large amount of features the Beo5 has, and still were at a stage of learning. My Beo5 will charge tonight and I can start playing arround

  • Re: DVD2 vs. Beocenter 2

Have you already seen the DVD2 menu system ? Is there any more information about DVD2 in the net ? I agree with the mentioned charm of the 7000 system. Best, Erhan

Hi Peter, thanks for your quick reply. You're right about the audio master issue. Since DVD2 will have no display, listening to music would demand the plasma running all the time. On the other hand I can turn it off with FORMAT 0. I'm really starting to tend towards the DVD2 instead of the BC2, because I love the clean designed aluminium box

  • DVD2 vs. Beocenter 2

My setup contains a Beocenter 2 connected to Beosystem 3 / BV4 -50. I'm planning to add a DVD2 to my setup. Since I almost never hear radio over BC2, I am wondering if there would be any need for the Beocenter 2 after adding the DVD2. My dealer said that CD music quality of the DVD2 may not be as good as in Beocenter 2. Can anybody confirm that
