  • Re: Hiscox Insurance!

I've certainly heard nothing but good about them. Certainly, the number of BeoWorlders who are Hiscox customers must indicate how good they are for those with a lot of specialist stuff to insure. However, having been given a stupily high renewal quote from Norwich Union recently, I went to Bradford and Bingly who offer a range of insurence deals

  • Re: Small but perfectly formed!

To be fair, this really comes down to design era's. I love the stacking sets ( 5500, 6000 etc) and of course the sound comes into it, but I mainly like the black and silver stylings. Had I decorated fifferently, I would quickly go for one of the wood/laminate sets. Similarly, I think this comes down to what style era you fall into. As it is, we've

  • Re: Serenata link

Coming to the US? Well, the beauty of B&O is that thanks to the lack of a contract you could get one from anywhere and take it home. Certainly, I would be tempted to get one next time I'm abrad to avoid British sales tax. I normally don't mind but for a 4 figure purchase that can fit in my pocket, I refuse to pay the 17.5%, just out of principle

  • Mac Expo UK

I thought I'd see if any other BeoWorlders are going to the Mac Expo at Olympia tomorrow? Im fairly recogniseable, flared jeans, smart, black jacket, wearing a cravat. If there are people going, it would be good have a decent chat about B&O Mac stuff, seeing as (more oten than not, sadly) B&O staff seem to know less than a lot about us silent

  • Re: Serene Question

I think it has a WAP thing, but (despite owning a Serene) I'm not exactly sure. I've never really seen the point of web mobiles, although the iphone with it's scaling/zoom thing might change that opinion. To be honest, the Serene doesn't have too many features, it just looks amazing and has a good sound quality. Being design obsessed

  • Re: One more product forum

Although I'm not a Beo5-er myself, I can see that, at least for the next year, it may make sense to have a seperate forum, on the basis that it's a new product and it will take time to create a good FAQ section for it. As for the others, I suspect the way it is is probably as good as we're going to get A vaguely related note though, as this

  • Re: Two things: my next car and the BL6000s

In reference to the 6000's, I think they've been a vicim of their own success. They are good speakers, and they look beautiful, but because of that, most companies now 'borrow' the visual appearence in so much as the 6000's now look generic to those that don't realise this. I think they're great for an office or a secondary

  • Re: ceramic remote

I think it would look awesome in a black marbled colour; maybe with a thin aluminium band around the outside rim. Although I'd still rather a Beo5. As for ceramics, I was reading a paper at work today about the aluminium industry trying to design ceramic electrodes. Think about hundreds of degrees of temperature shock loading and about 200,000 amps

  • Re: The last film you watched and said "I really enjoyed that"

I saw "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" expecting it to kill 2 and a bit hours before I was supposed to meet someone. It was honestly one of the best things I've seen in years. Great story, wonderfully acted by a cast of eccentric people, but with it's steampunk styling it had a beautiful art deco feel to it. I

  • Re: Weekly poll?

I sense a themed day-of-the-week thing coming on. Wednesday is the encourated irrelavent discussion, Monday could be the launch of the weekly poll. Now that we have a decently sized and regularly watching community, I think this is probably a stp in the right direction.
