Craig, Yes - I have missed out on 2 on ebay recently! That is why I have decided to ask here! Brian

Better to wait and release something that is working than send it out, to meet customer demand, when it is not ready! Some 20 years ago when talking with my local ealer he rued the day that there were no longer entry level systems. He discoverd that 10-20% of people would come back and upgrade - a useful source of potential customers. Now with some

My catalogue for the Avant says it uses less than 2.5 watts on standby. There is no data for BS5500, BS 6500 or BS 7000, Pentas etc. Whilst the very latest items may be using less than 0.5 watt - how about the middle aged products? Brian

In those distant days it was teak or rosewood (palisander) with an odd white and then oak creeping in. It would be interesting to see how some modern pieces would

I have an MCP 5500 that needs some TLC as the volume wheel (and thus bass, treble and balance) does not work . The rest works perfectly - it was used to set up my BM7000 to act as an alarm a couple of weeks ago. I have taken it apart and cleaned it (finding some fluff in front of the infra red Optical sensor that detects the black or white on the wheel
