Robin could you describe in detail what's wrong with it? This might give us a clue as to what's involved. Does the lid rise? Does it power on? Does the cd spin? Austin

Gustavo this is actually a common problem on the 3000-2's. The problem is often as you said a faulty contact inside the switch. Disassembling the switches can be complicated, but others have had success by removing the front panel and spraying electrical contact cleaner in the backs of the switches while tilting the panel away so the fluid and residue

Actually, when you say the cd player 'died', would you be able to say anything more about the problem? Does it not turn on at all? Does the cd spin but not play? Austin

Welcome Robin! In the price range you mentioned, you could actually find a whole 3300 system on ebay if you keep an eye out. I bought my 4500 system (the system that came after your 3300) for less than $800. Or were you specifically looking for a 'new' cd player? Austin

Heh wow Andy that's neat. I'd love to be able to get my hands on a schematic and try to build a replica of the circuit. Doubt anyone would have such a thing lying around though lol.

Batman: The Dark Knight preview. Saw the preview today when I went to see the new Indy movie (ugh, a horror for someone who loves Indiana Jones). In the background I spotted a pair of Beolab 5's and I'm pretty sure there was a beovision too. Not sure about the beovision because it was a quick fuzzy background scene and I wasn't expecting
