beodim: The price of DVD2 in Switzerland: CHF 1865.- The current price of Philips 7310 (which I believe was used as the basis for DVD2) in Switzerland: CHF 830.- Bingo, I let you do the math regarding how much times it is... The result I get is in any case far away from "5 or 10 times the price". Yes, you are right, but it's more than

I just asked my dealer for the official price of DVD2 in Switzerland, it is CHF 1865.- So this is really too much for only having a Philips DVDR in a B&O Box
-
Did you already inform your dealer or B&O about this problem? I would do it, I'm sure they will help you out somehow.
-
Too bad it's in England, so it won't be possible for me on that date. But would have been great to get to know some of the users here in reality. Hm, what about a Swiss B&O Meeting?
-
Interessting what you tell us andy! Well this means that B&O did make reboxed devices already for a long time. I really wonder how the quality of DVD2 will be. I can't really belive that B&O would release such a poor product that does not really "have" anything....
-
Wow, thats really tons of ports that BeoSys3 has! I wonder how to get rid of all those cables....

Hm, sounds really good about the build quality of BS3. I also plan to buy a BS3 soon, to have sound on the balcony, and also to use it as my wake up alarm. So i am not sure i read about a thing in BS3, it was that if you set an alarm, BS3 will play at highest volume when the alarm goes off. Is this still the case?
-
Hard to judge without having/testing the product actually. For me, it does not really matter who exactly did produce the different parts of the B&O hardware, as long as it meets the high quality standarts one can expect from B&O. If it would be true that the whole thing is just an reboxed "normal" dvd recorder, this is really a shame
-
Actually what you are planing to do, is what i do already. I do not have a BS3 but a BS4. So i copy my songs in MP3 192kbps onto the SD card, and i divide the different albums into different folders. So BS4 then shows me the folder names while playing it, so i named the songs after the Album or Artist. Too bad it does not read ID3 tags that are in the

Yes, this is not that good. I would expect B&O hardware to communicate between each other. So when you would programm a STB movie, then the TV timer would hand over this information to the DVD2 and this one would record it. can't be that hard to implement, others already do have such features. Too bad.
