@ Russ, I agree completely. For a TV meant as a secondary unit (bedroom, office, den, etc.) surround seems silly. There a great options, though at greater cost, for a "main" room TV. I do have some complaints that have kept me on the sidelines: 1. I thought the logic of not including a remote control with a TV was to give the user a choice

I can only speak for a US-spec Avant. The installed IR codes in the Avant will control many if not all of the essential functions of my sources. Importantly though, not all the sources' IR commands. I think this is exactly as it should be, otherwise the screen overlay would be cluttered with all kinds of "minor" functions. I can only wish

The World in BeoWorld really means World. Esperanto anyone?

I did this exactly. In fact I rented two movies, one SD and another HD. Can't explain the reason, but IMHO SD DVD still looks much much better than what I was able to get from ATV. I'm ok with that. I don't know the exact answer to your question, but I would encourage you to look at Lintronic as a possible solution. Given the age of the MX and it's relatively short lifespan in our market, I doubt there's much support left for it. I hope I'm wrong, so let us know how you fare.

Yes, it's true that Lintronic has the ability to join a Masterlink network, but it is for a specific application . As with all things Lintronic the definitive authority in Michael at Lintronic.

I would not have a problem with deleting the N.A. forum. Appreciate the hard work and investment in this effort.

For you: Go all the way BV9, I would if I could. For the kids: I wouldn't spend too much. AppleTV: Love it! Get it! I did. But know that the video quality is awful. I use it as a music server. It serves up music brilliantly. For now Blue Ray, SD-DVD, and Cable are good options for video content.

I think you were quite clear indeed. While video with ATV is better than with a docked Ipod, I still use ATV primarily for music. I would add that even if you only want music, ATV is still a far better appliance as it is designed for connection to a TV than a docked Ipod.
