Oh dear - the old Penta/BL5000 argument again................. This war has raged on for years & there was even a poll once. If you do a search you may even find the thread which answered this question once & for all. The outcome was ... er... a draw with both speakers having similar numbers of plusses & minuses & fan bases who argued

Don't bother even thinking about buying a used cartridge or even a so callled "new old stock" one. Chances are the suspension will have gone or will be about to go in all of them. Soundsmith in the USA sell brand new hand made ones. I have a SMMC4 from them and it is as good as any B&O orignal & better than most. Chris.

I wouldn't remove it simply to clean dust off - use a stylus brush. These cartridges are prone to losing coil contact with the pins if they are removed too often. If you really need to remove it then yes - a gentle pull should be all that is required. Chris.
