I started the transport. Trouble is, I had to bend the carriage on one side to be able to take it out... How did you do it, Jari?
-
Hi, I have dismantled the transport, but not quite the way Jari did it, because I pulled it out completely: there is a connector at its back which you can safely pull, thus releasing the whole thing, and allowing to work far from the rest! Photos will arrive in due time. I have sound through the headphone amp, but only one channel is showing at the

Hi, Glad to know Martin's kit has arrived! I'll probably get them tomorrow then. My biggest problem is the spool motor. It yells and nothing will do. I'll need a new one. I can hear fine music, no tape eating, but the PPM doesn't light on one channel. All lights are functional. Oh and the caps need to be changed (the usual red ROE).

Great Evan! At last! One or two things you might want to consider... First, the main reservoir cap. I too thought mine was okay at first. But the amps were not completely silent. When I stuck my ear to the speakers I could hear a faint buzz, which completely disappeared after replacement. Then on one channel I had two bad 560 ohms resistors on each

Like Olly, I doubt the belt alone could be responsible for the rattle. What is that green stuff you saw inside? Was the belt green? Looks like somebody 'fixed' the deck with an old office rubber band!

Hi Olly, Well it's not so much about the part itself, but it's actually very difficult to make it properly centered and precisely square to the worm screw. My pulley, taken from a 4002, is slightly wobbly. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/36575.aspx?PageIndex=3

By the way, I'm still looking for an original servo pulley (the big one with à half-moon centre hole)... Anyone please?
-
Hi, I was able to find NOS BC141-142-143 on eBay France when I did my 4002. The seller is called Brico-Loisirs. He still has them in stock. But please leave a few for me, don't buy the whole stock!

I've received an original service manual, in French language, brand new. It is fantastically precise! I have the necessary (nay, compulsory) dynamometres, an oscilloscope and the belts should arrive soon. I will try to find an alternative method to Jari's but I doubt it will be feasible that easily...
Got my deck today. Waiting on belts. One doesn't fully appreciate the size until it's in one's hands! (Of course, it's probably tiny next to the Beomaster 8000....)
Indeed! It's about the size of a contemporary Beogram! Good to see it got safely to your place... Let the game begin! Merry Christmas
