Hi, Unfortunately yes, that does sound very much like the tube is on it's way out. Sadly too, the value of these sets are so low now that it would be uneconomic to replace the tube On the positive side, you can pick up another Avant for very little money - less in fact than it would cost you to fix your existing set. Saab's are very good quality motor cars. If the choice was a Peugeot, Vauxhall, Ford, Citroen, Jap crap, malaysian rubbish, or american junk, even most BMW and Merc models OR a Saab model - I choose the SAAB every time, without any doubt - even if the Saab was a 5 or even 10 year old model. Sad loss for the increasingly bland and boring global car
