  • Re: Hello beoworld and maybe a surprise

Dave Moulton: ... being intimately involved with the BeoLab 5 and related loudspeakers. Hmmm. Care to tell us more, or would that be sub rosa? I second the suggestion above, Paris. David worked on developing the Acoustic Lens Technology and was a member of the team that created the BL5s - you'd get a lot more info than what you got in the stores

  • Re: Beolab1 vs. Beolab 5

I think that BeoLab 9 as rears is overkill - also rarely advisable, as the speakers are quite low, and would be sending the sound into the back of your furniture? Rear surrounds should ideally be up on the wall. (The BL9s low height can be compensated with furniture that is low-backed, keeping your head/ears free to receive the soundwaves.) Decorative

  • Re: B&O support

Congrats Claus, I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with Keith here. You don't have to spend long on the official B&O site, following the threads with questions from customers, to understand that B&O support is sloooooow & often wroooooong when it comes to what can or can't be done with their equipment. That was some smart

  • Re: Beolab1 vs. Beolab 5

I haven't spent enough time listening to the BL1s to be able to have an opinion - they're often placed in rooms that are too large (probably due to their size) and therefore the bass dies out, while you're left with the top end, leaving you with a shrieky impression. When in a room that is properly sized to utilize room reflections, I'm

  • Re: Good Vintage Stores in Denmark?

If there's no one in the basement store (Turbinehallerne), then have your friend check in the vinyl store next door. The owner of the vintage store likes to hang there. Address to Best Buy, it's inside Copenhagen - walking distance from the City Hall square: Best Buy - Gl. Kongevej 132 - 1850 Frederiksberg C

  • Re: Anyone know why B&O discontinued the Beocenter 9300 or 9500?

I've been looking into recessing an iPod dock into the cassette space on a BeoCenter 9500. The person I spoke to concerning this said it was eminently doable, but the BC9500 I had as a candidate for the mod was so mint that I just couldn't get myself to gut its heart. (The Jolie movie was "Life, or something like it" from 2002).

www.bbuy.dk - store with items from the 90s to today. Look up their selection on the web. (Ahem, they ship ...) Make searches for specific products you're interested in at www.dba.dk - it's an internet Craig's List. If you find something you're keen on, get in touch with the seller and arrange for your friend to pick it up ... ? I have

I just watched Angelina Jolie controlling a BeoCenter 9500, with BeoLab 8000s, using a Beo4. In which movie? (And isn't this geeky?)

  • Re: Will this be absolute high end ...

Here's some info on the Apple Express' capabilities, from someone who really checked it out. From this discussion, and very recent: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7075423#7075423 I found yesterday an interesting article, maybe somebody is interested on that information too: http://www.stereophile.com/accessoryreviews/505apple

stax: Optical/electrical S/PDIF converters are not very expensive (say less than £30) and shouldn't affect the music in any way. stax I agree, Stax. Though you'll find audioholics who are willing to spend thousands of pounds to fight the holy fight against jitter, etc. The sound card above costs $139 - a smart choice. Works as a straight
