For getting IR commands to the BS3, you must place one of the IR transmitters which came with the BeoSystem 3 over the IR eye on the front of the MacMini. RE the PAL/NTSC question, this shouldn't really make a difference.

I know what you mean, I often find myself listening to my AppleTV running through my BeoSystem at the moment - but I still love putting on a CD. I tend to find I listen more closely when listening to a CD - as opposed to iTunes (Apple TV), especially with my CD7000.

Only possible with a BeoCenter 2 or BeoSound 4 instead of the 9000 I think!

I'd agree with Peter and Henry - BeoLab 4000s are the minimum required. You may want to look at BeoLab 3s or 8000s as well.
