The real problem is, that BeoSound5/BeoMaster 5 does NOT support Apple formats, neither AAC nor AAC Lossless. WMA lossless is the way to go with BeoSound 5 .
BS5/BM5 does support AAC. See here: http://www.bang-olufsen.com/UserFiles/File/ts/BeoMaster5_en.pdf AAC is not an Apple format it is an open format developed

The BS5/BM5 that are on display are not the final one, especially in term of software. I'd want to see the final sofware/feature set before making my choice. p.

You should avoid using the Web Browsing feature if you are worried of viruses. Thanks to the Firewall, it is less likely that viruses could enter the system if as you are not going to infected pages.

The Tuner in the BS3 based BV7-40 is a DVB-T/S, S for satellite. It would not work for SKY, but should work for Freesat. The current DVB-T/S module is not compatible with DVB-T HD. You'd need to change the module, but it was mentioned here that the new HD module is DVB-T only and not "S".

I have a HDR1 and I am very happy with it. HDR2 is a bit better. If you go for a non B&O device, I really suggest, like Peter that you go for an all-in-one Set top box + HD recorder. A lot of them are supported by the STB-C or PUC of your TV. The advantages are big over the direct control through Beo5. - STB-C works with both Beo4 and Beo5. - STB

HDR2 is very recent, so I do not think there will be a replacement soon. What do you not like with it?

it is not about the prize draw... You can download User guides and Set up guides for most B&O products, you can also download the very useful PCG, a program that tells you how to connect and configure your set-up in an optimal manner. You are supporting the web site!

£450 would only give you a Beocenter 2500. Not the external amp, and speakers, and Beolink 5000. I do not think this system would be any better than yours. The amp won't be as good. You'll have much more wires (external amp, external RIAA) p.
