Francis, With regards to your two questions, my answers are:- Once the firmware in the Beo5 has been updated, it cannot be downgraded subsequently. The only way you can download a working configuration is to use the Beo5 Configuration Tool version 2.20 You can configure older audio products such as the Ouverture by using the template called "Audio1"

As you have already noted, there is not much available in terms of DVD players controlled by the STB-C However, you may wish to consider a B&O DVD controller which will control the following DVD players:- Onkyo DV-S525 Panasonic DMR-E50 Panasonic DMR-E53/DMR-E55 Panasonic DVD-A360 Panasonic DMR-EH54D Philips DVD950 Philips DVDR70/DVDR75 Philips

Controlling the Virgin V+ with the Beo5 is no problem provided you have line of sight or an infra-red extender. So, in my view your options are:- Purchase a Lintronic box and use it to map codes from an existing STB code in the AVANT to the Virgin V+ requirements which would allow it to work in a link room. Phil, Thank you for your answers and the last section for me provides some key clues to your problem:- You said:- I am convinced it's something to do with the variety of cds I play. I notice that when I first load a cd the unit either does not read it as in the fault mentioned or it takes a while to start playing (almost as though it's scanning
