  • Re: BeoVision 8 observations and questions about how to hook up devices

I agree with that. But then again I don't care. I connect my DVD through scart, Apple TV through HDMI and if ever required I would link the STB for cable to component. The BS9000 I have also has one AUX and I dealt with that even though it was annoying at times.

The B&O TVs control external devices trough IR not through hdmi. And with the BV8, you can only assign one source to the HDMI port. So controlling a STB and an apple TV while both are connected to the singled HDMI port is a no.

@Bingo The trouble with the HDMI switcher is, that we like to control STB and Apple TV through the STBc. When using a switcher, only 1 device can receive the IR signals. The TV does only allow 1 source with HDMI in the menus. So that is why I think one should use both, component and hdmi rather then hdmi switcher. JK

  • Watching TV while listening to Music

I have BV8 and BC2. I like to connect a Wii and Appple TV and have the TV picture on but still listen to music from the BC2, either disc, radio or aux. I like all 3. I searched here and found out about the AV "Source" procedure. Prssing AV TV and then CD or TV AV CD does not lead to the desired effect. BC2 and BV8 are connected through Scart

Hi Mark, I have only connected my BC2 through scart and the Apple TV through HDMI. I had briefly a Wii connected through the camera connection on the left side. The BC2 is linked through the master link module that provides an additional scart port. I have the launch document that was given to the dealers. It says when using the component input AV2

  • Re: BeoLab 2 and Mac

It is not straight forward. The BL2 has only power-link connection and no line in. However you can get an adapter at your dealer that will switch the speaker set on/off, to this you would have to connect your mac. See here. I did not know that they sell these boxes outside Japan. We had a picture once. http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/thread/80481.aspx

  • Re: Apple Tv vs Beoport

Streaming is not a problem if you do not have a N network. The apple tv will just run under G mode which is a bit slower. I use g, the initial sync was very painfull but now day to day its just a few minutes. JK

  • Re: Connecting BeoLab 8000

That is a bit tricky. The speakers are designed to switch on and off automatically when they receive a signal. In a B&O environment this comes actually through the powerlink connection when you turn on or off your equipment. As you will be connecting the speakers through line connection, they will switch on and off as they receive an audio signal

  • Re: Bang Olufsen official site has stolen my picture

So the anwser is, you should be flattered. That is an amazing picture by the way. Maybe you qualify for a page in the next magazine. And they should pay you a commission to be fair. When I saw your picture of the BV8 I became more interested, took delivery last weekend.
