I think the 9s have enough bass. My wife, on the other hand, does not and insists that we have a sub connected also. I think the bass is better without the sub but there is more bass for movies with a sub.

Before we had our Beolab 1s and Beolab 9s, we did exactly the same thing...tried 6000s in front and 4000s in rear and the other way around also. For awhile we preferred the 4000s in front but ultimately settled on the 6000s in front. They sound different and is a matter of taste.

We have both 4000s and 6000s. To my ears the sound from each is very comparable. I tend towards thinking the 6000s sound a little better. As others have said listen and decide which you like the best.

There is something intangible about B and O. Design, highest quality both in terms of build quality and performance quality, and the little bits of uniqueness, glass doors, Serene motor etc.

We have Beolab 9s with a Velodyne subwoofer. My preference is to not use the sub. The addition of the bass from the sub was much boomier and of poor quality compared to the tight bass of the 9s. My wife however preferrs having the sub. She likes much more bass than I do.

Does anyone know if there is a significant difference in picture quality between a Beovision 4 with BS 3 and a 720p screen compared to a Beovision 4 with BS 3 and a 1080p screen. I believe the standard def TV may be better on the 720p screen, but is there any loss of performance when viewing an HD
