I'm in total agreement with Peter. I'm sure if you let us know the exact problem with your 4002 it can be fixed. Chris.

Not just B&O, loads of electrical appliances are fitted with 2 core cable & no earth. Chris.

Not uncommon with these, it is old and needs replacing ideally. I think member Craig managed to prolong the life of one of these motors (on a Beocenter 2200) by spraying it with WD40 or similar. No one makes a replacement motor that I'm aware of but there are lots of Beograms which use the same one if you can find a broken one with a good motor

I haven't tried repolishing them as they will have an anodised surface to the brushed aluminium. Past experience with other B&O aluminium products has taught me (and others) that trying anything like this makes matters much worse and the more you do the worse it gets! If you decide to bite the bullet and give it a go I wish you the best of luck

If it is the BG1800 from the 1980's it will simply lift off. They can become a little stuck so you may need to "rock" it by lifting opposite edges alternately whilst using slight pressure in the centre. Welcome to Beoworld Chris.

The Beogram 3000 doesn't have a tracking motor belt, it uses a nylon thread & pully mechanism to pull the tracking carriage across the record. Is it trying to track at all or is there a complete lack of movement? Chris.

Isn't there a selector switch underneath the 5000 for the cartridge type Craig? I'm not convinced this would cause your problems though as I don't know what effect this has on playback if it set incorrectly. Underneath the tonearm pivot assembly there is an antiskating device on a fine spring connected to an adjustment lever (I think) -

[quote user="cooldude"] Just like most in this thread I am doing a pair of cx100's right now and cut some wooden disks that I cut to the exact size and weigh down. ( This would be my 12th pair that I'm refoaming...). However, the pair I'm doing now is in that clear (brushed?) aluminium. Anyone got any ideas on how best to polishing

I'm afraid the 2500 cubes are merely tweeters designed to enhance the top end on some of the early beovox's. As stand alone speakers they are pretty useless. I have used CX50 & CX100's as computer speakers in the past and they work extremely well for this type of application due to the compact design. As they are passive you need to

I did indeed repair mine - you have a PM Milton. Chris.
