  • Re: Beogram 8000/Beocord 8002. A couple of issues, and a series of questions.

Robert, great to see you in the forum. There are two adjustment screws at the back of the << and >> buttons on the panel. It could be that one of them is far out. They are set by measuring a pair of related voltages on the main board. I would still recommend replacing the caps, though. If you cannot do it yourself, I suggest you take the

The Homogen resistors were incredibly expensive components at the time but they were also the best, you could buy. I never found one in a Bang & Olufsen radio, though. They came in a wide range of ohmic values (not following todays standards) and were all of the same physical size (apprx. 30 x 8 x 4mm). They came with their ohmic values either cast

Thanks B&O's 1920's-30's component production is not something, we normally cover here and I'm not sure if there's any interest at all. Being a collector myself, I do find both the ads and the parts themselves interesting, though. Martin

  • Re: Beovox p45 no low frequency

Unfortunately, this happens very often when they are moved and almost always when shipped. If you do a search on the fora, you will find more info but it's basically a matter of the woofer magnets glue losening, allowing the magnets to shift to one side through their own magnetic force, sandwiching the coil against the center piece. This freezes

  • Re: BM8000 crackling sound in one channel

Cracked solder joints at the driver transistors. Cracked solder joints between the processor and display modules. Cracked solder joints at connectors related to the signal path. A noisy transistor or opamp in the signal path. - Pretty much in that order. If you can swap the signal leads/plugs from the left/right amplifier modules, that will tell you

  • Lonely speakers

I have a bunch of "lonely" speakers. A lonely speaker is a speaker for which I don't have a partner. They will make great extra speakers for them olde sets or provide an easy way to replace damaged/broken ones. Generally fair to nice appearance and untested. Can be tested, repaired etc. as needed. Sold as complete speakers or discrete

  • Re: Beogram 8002 "tap"

That's the hinge pin. It runs the full width of the Beogram and holds both the dustcover and aluminum lid. Push it back in flush with the side of the Beogram. Put a coin or similar between your finger and the pin to minimize the pain. Martin
