Sounds a bit like the Maglite flashlight. By far and away the best torch ever made, but lacking substance without the batteries. (With the batteries a good self defence weapon!) Graham

Despite having been careful not to scratch or damage the aluminium surface of my 1203 turntable platter, recently a number of fine whitish streaky marks have appeared. I am guessing that this may be some sort of breakdown of the anodized finish resulting in local oxidising. Has anyone else encountered this, and if so, found a solution? I am considering
