  • Re: Release date for Beovision 7-40 with Blu-Ray

I've heard late summer for North America. BeoSound 5 moved up though, so BV7 MkIV might also.

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen sees FY loss on weak pre-Xmas sales

It seems as though saturation is a bigger issue in EU than over here in North America. However, we tend to open new stores before we've perfected old ones, taking key employees and stretching talent very thin. Most B&O shops here have one very talented salesperson and two or three trainees. Goes back to my point about the biggest problems for

  • Re: Net Music for Dummies ( me)

No worries. You're correct. Your BeoCenter 2 is N.MUSIC and N.RADIO capable, meaning that when connected to a device that can supply these sources, they will play. Those devices are BeoPort, BeoMedia, and BeoSound 5. BeoPort is the cheapest and when connect via USB to your computer and MasterLink to your BeoCenter 2, will stream music from iTunes

  • Re: New Beosystem 3

Very curious, indeed. Haven't heard of an MkII as some have mentioned. Have heard of the inclusion of DSP but everything else discussed, hardware or software related, would be able to be fitted or swapped into the existing chassis. Of course, several type numbers have developed simply because of the changing of interior components. This doesn't

  • Re: Beovision 9 is good value for money!

I'm surprised that the BeoVision 9 is such a favorite over the BeoVision 7. Something about the 7's form struck me the way the Avant first did. I remain nonplussed by the 9. Maybe it because I, like many others, consider the BeoVision 5 to be such a pure expression that the BeoVision 9, with its less elegant proportions, seems a bit of a step

  • Re: Ripping Music - The Digital Age

While the BeoMaster 5 is a Windows machine, the software is not Windows Media Center, and, as I've said, I've had good luck simply installing codecs on the underlying OS and having the BeoMedia interface play them as if native support existed. I'd be surprised if the the BeoMaster 5 is different in this regard.

  • Re: bl3 side mount ?!

It's possible, sure. There's only a single screw on the bottom attaching the speaker to the bracket. We've done this before in a few installations. Shouldn't affect the sound too much.

  • Re: Bang & Olufsen sees FY loss on weak pre-Xmas sales

The AST, from everything I've heard, will be a software upgrade. The unit I saw being tested used an existing piece. I couldn't see which port was being used for the mic, but I was assured that it was just an upgrade to an existing piece. I suppose it doesn't rule out an MKII, but seems unlikely. PS, 355f, Even I'm not taking sides in

  • Re: Ripping Music - The Digital Age

It seems like there is a real issue with codecs almost more so than rip quality. I suppose it's pretty easy to figure out whether you want lossless or not and I would guess many here do. However, it seems that when adopting your format of choice, you could potentially limit what devices you can play music on. FLAC has come up a few times, as an

  • Re: B & O backup of telephone address book

There's only one way and that's with the assistance of a B&O technician (or a savvy salesperson) and their service computer. They can store your phonebook as a backup and give it to you on a file. You can load it back onto your base if anything happens. However, I'm not sure if this can be done from one model/generation to another.
