There are many hundreds if not thousands of BC9000 which have been consigned to the scrapheap because the CD mech is not working. If the spring which centres and holds the disc in place has disintegrated then I am afraid there is not much you can do. If the CD mech no longer recognises or plays your CD's then it is probably a faulty C2103 on the

I would start the investigation by checking the tweeters in the active speakers. It sounds to me like they are blown! Have you had a party recently? I'm not sure about the displays. You need an engineer who is skilled with vintage equipment. Where are you??

The 3000 and 3200 do not have datalink. At least the ones I tried a few months ago didn't!

I can't tell the difference between any of the versions although others will swear that they can. What this tells me is that if you want to hear a difference then you probably will! The Mk3 CD mechanism is supposed to be more reliable. I have no evidence to support this. All versions can be upgraded to N-Music capability by changing a software chip
