Well I suppose it was always coming but the Beovision 9 has been discontinued. The 7-55 has taken over in this area I suppose. I still prefer the design of the 5/9 to the 7 but am obviously in a minority!

But you said it does it with the 5000s as well.

Interesting.I do have a Beocom 6000 and a Beotalk 1200 and the red light certainly flashes if a call comes in when I am not there and the Beotalk takes the call. I wonder if setting the answer machine to a few more calls would make a difference. I confess to not liking the Beotalk 1200 - it is not in my view a very good answering machine - no internal

Not sure just how much improvement you will get with the drive units provided! Would be interesting though! You would probably spend more than B&O ever did though! And you are correct; I didn't see the scale properly on the frequency response.

You need to use the P-I-P function. This may need adding to your Beo4 if not there already. With everything in stand by, press the stand by and list at the same time. You will see Add? on the Beo4. Press Go and then press LIST till the legend P-IN-P comes up and press GO. To use, when the TV is on, press LIST till P-IN-P comes up, then press GO and

That is an early one so has the Philips 16 bit mechanism with the TDA1541A DAC. This is the digital to analogue converter - this particular one was used in some of the best CD players of the era and the smooth detail and sound quality is very highly thought of, even today. Do a google on TDA1541A and you will find all sorts of articles! Some of it is

I would guess that you have disturbed a wire or cracked a solder joint. I have never had to undo any screws to replace a belt though it can be a little fiddly I agree. I think it is probably a question of simply checking the integrity of the circuit and tracing the power. If you are as useless as me, most dealers still have access to service facilities
-
Just plug it into the AUX socket. If it is an older 9500, it will use a TDA1541A DAC so I would favour that!

Now sold. Thank you for the interest. I don't think these are either the best looking or the best made speakers by B&O, but they really do sound fantastic! If you have an 8000 or a 6000 Beomaster, you need a pair of these!

Excellent write up - and as said above, on a wonderful and much loved speaker. You certainly flatten the midrange beautifully. It is interesting how if anything the bass drops. I suppose you lose some of the cabinet resonances due to the damping which will actually give more control. I imagine that the increased treble peak would no longer be audible
