Hi Friedmett, Yes I do agree trying to retain the systems as original setup as possible is a nice idea... I love the look of these systems especially on a long low modern console, all in one line .... very elegant... I've been thinking about getting a BG8002, but am still wondering if I'll really use it. The tape I would never use, so unless

Hi John, Do let us know how you go with this, as it would be handy for future reference to know that you can simply replace the whole woofer, with a current production part that you can order, as I know that Martins refurbished parts would be a limited supply! I had wondered whether this was possible when I was looking for my speakers, as I thought

Hi Peter, Thank you, this again I find very helpful, as I am still trying to better understand the concept that you don't necessarily have to match the amp power output with the speakers... and for most of us as you say, we probably generally only use our systems at much lower levels than they are capable of, in my case probably around 30% of its

Hi Henrik, Thanks for your detailed reply. Yes I think a FAQ page perhaps about speaker / amp ratings / compatibility would be excellent idea especially for people such as myself that are less experience and technically minded. Because I think what those less experience tend to do is think that we should match the amp to the speaker exactly eg. BM 8000

Hi there, This is more a question for my own better understanding, but perhaps would assist Durr in the selection of the speakers too ..... My understanding is that the B8000 is rated at 150W at 4 ohm and 100W 8 ohm... now based on this the 8 ohm MC120 would be perfect as you suggest John. Also how about the CX100 (although limited sound quality I'm

Hi Malcolm, Now i have never done an actual price comparison myself, but friends of mine that travel up here regularly from Australia, like to buy electronics here, because they get a latest model for the same money that they would pay for its predecessor in Australia. So i guess its best to check out the various models your considering, and then at

Hi Guy, Looking wonderful .... This is how I believe you should put together your home, buying the best pieces (design / quality) you can and creating a strong design foundation to build on over time... everyone these days seem to want 'instant interiors'..... .... I love that the rich timber floor as its a beautiful contrast to the crisp, minimal

Hi Brian, I made the conscience decision to leave my B&O equipment on standby, a BS3000 and BM6000. Concern about the value of these items and shortening their life span is the main reason... however just like you, I still don't 'really' know if this is the correct thing to do or not. All other non essentials are off at the wall socket
-
Hi all, Several things I would like to add to the fray.... I was a real doubter that turning things off at the wall socket would make any difference to my energy consumption.... and I was wrong... about 2 years ago I started turning almost all non essential appliances, power boards etc off at the wall socket, the result about a S$50.00 + savings per

Hey Douglas, Beautiful work! Still haven't got my BM6000 sorted... been busy... maybe in the next few months.... if I have a problem I definitely know who I'm looking for! Now, if I hadn't just gotten rid of my Ipod dock, (I disliked it immensely as it was white on a brown lacquer cabinet) ... I now use wireless.... I would have definitely
