• Re: B&O repairs, restoration, spares, servicing etc. London based
Did someone change my name without telling me? Cheers Nigel
Nigel, I am so sorry, no idea what I was thinking. This sort of error is becoming far too frequent - put it down to the ageing process. Cleve
If so can you tell us a bit about your background / experience in B&O?
Hi Graham, I think this may be someone who deals on ebayspecialising in older B&O and trading as 'Barrie911'. The details he posts usually refer to the item being serviced (lubrication, new belts etc) He recently had a BC 3500

I've just spotted that as well and was going to post something, but you beat me to it Graham! Being realistic, someone will always try it on in cases like this (new product, relatively scarce) and sadly sometimes they get away with it and someone buys the thing. Nice 4004 by the way! Cleve

  • Re: Why do people put down B&O sound

As is often the case, Peter brings a sane voice to the debate! There are good active loudspeakers, like the BL5, the bigger Meridian DSPs and the little known but exceptional ATCs. But there are some stunningly good 'passives' as well, and arguably the Quad Electrostatics, in virtually all its manifestations over the last 50 years, takes some

  • Re: Flash your B&O!

Seems there's a group of us that like Dieter Rams' work for Braun - that includes Tim Jarman! He has an article in this month's 'Hi Fi World' about Braun Hi Fi kit from the 60s! Interestingly, there is a German company still making the Rams intepretation of the Quad Electrostatic ESL57 loudspeakerm (the LE1) under licence in Germany

Hardly surprising really - doesn't David Lewis design for ASUS as well as for B&O? Cleve
A Dieter Rams Braun masterpiece to go with the B&Os. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Lex, That's a lovely looking TS45 - Im a great admirer of Rams as a product designer as well - even my Avatar is a photo of his redesign of Peter Walker's original electrostatics. • Re: Tim Jarman on TV!
No way! Tim looks younger than I do - I've spoken to him before lots of times, and thought he was a fair bit older than me due to his expertise with electronics and his day job
John, I made exactly the same assumption and when I first visited him, I thought I was being greeted by his son!
