The crux of the problem is that on most Beo4's the "AV" command and the "A.AUX" command are both accessed using the list function. This means that it is not possible to use two consecutive list functions hence "AV-A.AUX" can't be done. A Beo5 can have a button created with that specific command. I've done it

Now that Beo6 is available, why not see if your local dealer will do a deal on a Beo5? The Beo5 can be configured with pretty much whatever functions you need such as "AV-A.AUX" which as far as I know, isn't possible with a Beo4 Opman
Only remaining issue is that only one STB works. Graham
Hi Graham When using an STBc splitter to control two devices, you have to ensure that the two sockets (1 x chrome is STB SAT: 1 x gold is STB V.AUX) are assigned correctly. I assume that this is connected to the BeoVision5? Opman

Just has another thought. You may be able to place BeoCenter2 in the main room was well as BeoSound9000 but not connect Masterlink to the socket box. By connecting a scart lead to the television you could simply use BeoCenter2 as a DVD player. This way there wouldn't be an option programme clash. Although it would be a fairly expensive SD DVD player

Hi It IS possible to have both of these units in the same Masterlink set up, assuming that they are in different rooms. What is NOT possible is to configure them both as the audio master. One can be in option1 and feed the main room and the link system. The other can be in option4 and its sources are only available in the link room. It is still possible

BeoMaster5 should be connected to BeoSound4 with Masterlink not Powerlink. Opman

Hi Kevin If you PM me your serial number, I can check the type number of yoru unit which will indicate whether or not yor have the DAB tuner fitted. Regards Opman
(back to the subject - Beosound 8)
I don't feel able to contribute much to this thread about "post modernist stuff". I'll just wait until somebody asks how to option programme a BeoSound8 Opman
