I would keep the RDS version, if the two are different in that respect. It doesn't matter a bit otherwise but you'd regret it later if you got a Beomaster 7000 and your remaining *link didn't have RDS. I don't think the buyers are too aware of this control/clock difference, I certainly hadn't heard of it before. The RDS / no RDS

The carrier frequency however is mostly unique to B&O, which prevents many universal / learning remotes from being used, if they are not prepared for it.

OK, so the display apparently works and has power... I believe it's time to try and find where the data gets lost then. This is unfortunately a bit more involved (and difficult without the service manual) as there are some active electronics in between.
