Hello dimka, you´re right. the earlier avants had curved tube. As there is a neraly plane contrast screen in front of the tube the difference on the first look (design) is quite small. the main difference (opticaly) ist that the rf version has no plastic frame (from frontview) aroung the contrast screen.
