  • Re: BV7-40 with Blu-Ray inbuilt...

Given the need with Blu-ray to frequently update firmware, what provision is B & O making to address this requirement?

And the new Oppo BD with the Anchor Bay chip i think will be a hard one to beat! [/quote] How can one place the Sony S350/550 ahead of their flagship

It is a superb player, which is rated in some quarters

  • Re: The best STB's to use in the UK

Have you,or an engineer, tested the signal strength received by your aerial? Has an upgrade of aerial been suggested as an option for improved Freeview reception? If you are definitely in a poor reception area, then Freesat would appear to be your only option if you do not wish to subscribe to Sky. Of the Freesat boxes available, comparative tests in AV

  • Re: NEW PRODUCTS ANNOUNCMENT

Is there a possibiility that B & O will incorporate in the BV4,and BV7,the Neo? plasma, and (LED backlit) LCD,panels announced by Panasonic, and Samsung respectively at the recent CES? • Re: Switching to BV9 depends on different issues...

I was given to understand that for a 50" panel,at a 3-3.5 metre viewing distance,it would be difficult to discern a difference between 720p,and 1080p,images. As for the alleged poor picture quality of SD material on a1080p panel surely this is dependent on the quality of the sources. The SDDVD PQ produced by my Oppo 983 into my Pioneer LX608 is

9 LEE: I wouldn't get too caught up in 720, 1080, camera etc etc. I have a 720p non-camera 'leper' BeoVision 9 and frankly it's absolutely amazing. The difference between the 720 and 1080 panels is minimal and nowhere near as dramatic as people like to wax lyrical about. Do Sky transmit in 1080 ? - nope... If you can grab a great deal

  • Re: How to save Bang & Olufsen

One cannot consider a loudspeaker in isolation from it's accompanying amplifier. The longstanding valves versus solid state debate? Which gives a "truer" sound? A given speaker can sound great with one and inferior with the other. As to how to save Bang & Olufsen--is there a magic answer? They are producing high cost equipment for

  • Re: What do you think about this?

Would a more realistic alternative to the B & O be the Jacob Jensen T80?

Is the Maplin DECT Wireless Phone Line Extender(£49.99) of any use?
