  • Re: What is the true added value of style?

TerryM: For example, the basic BV9 is £14000,and while it does look very impressive, one does have to query whether in performance terms it represents value for money. Given that a Pioneer 5000 EX Full HD Panel costs £5000,one could assemble a system that would out perform a BV9. Yes,one would have separates v integrated, but does performance

  • Re: Overpriced Junk

jk1002: You pay for the design and brand image as well. It's like driving a Toyata versus a Lexus. JK Lol a Toyota versus a Lexus, it's more like a Rolls Royce versus a Lexus !!! B&O makes the Rolls Royce of televisions not the Lexus - Lexus are not among the best cars out there. Remember B&O products are so good, that their main competitor

  • Re: Beovision 7 verse 9

Depends on what source you are watching. I do not doubt that the BV9 looks fantastic when the source if from full HD, however I recently saw one displaying freeview with it's bulit in tuner and the picture looked terrible. - low resolution on a big, high res screen looks s**t. Also the tuner they chose produces a picture that doesn't fill the

  • Re: Beo4 remote not working

Craig: My Beo4 started playing up, it would just go blank. If you gave it a shake it would come back to life. My dealer said it had had something spilt inside it. (Not by me). They let me borrow one which was the latest version. Never got it fixed as I purchased the one the lent me from them for £75. Now use it in the Bedroom. Think I will try

  • Re: "Insane" set-ups in B&O stores

soundproof: Last year I was in a B&O store which had a screen with a BL5 on either side, right up against the screen, and with the chair about 1,5 metres from the screen. More amusingly anyone in that chair had the back of his head up against the back wall -- meaning those BL5 were hard at work mixing grout. Lol, I think that's why they only

We had a similar fault with our beo 4 with the same problem as you. It cost us about £60 - £70 to fix. I can't remember the exact price, but as it was this expenisive, we have resolved never again to let our beo 4 be able to accidentally drop off our sofa!!. Good luck getting yours fixed though. Hope it costs less than this.

Killy : "You say that but running an HD signal, sitting 2 m away from the BV9 is very impressive. They do that in my local dealer and it's actually pretty amazing, and because of the height of the screen in the BeoVision 9, it's very comfortable to watch. With the Avant though, you NEED to sit further away. It isn't HD and therefore

  • Re: Speaker options - views appreciated

I agree wth Killy, push for option 1 if you can, we have lab5s front and 8000 rear and movie sound absolutely ****ing awesome. They replaced our lab 2 and 8000s at the front and it does actually look less cluttered and is easier to hide cables and surge protectors etc behind . Otherwise option 2 with 9s in front and 3s at rear these are very unobtrusive

  • Re: "Insane" set-ups in B&O stores

In one store, the sofa for viewing of the new 50" BV 9 was a distance of about 1.5m to 2 m away . We watch our much smaller 32 " avant from about 4-4.5 metres away at home, so this didn't show the tv off in its best light - hmm I can see 10 pixels on the screen not in my peripheral vision!! There was however a super cool rotating stand

  • Re: What do you like/ dislike about the new forum?

I don't like the way the thread titles are listed on the forum pages. The titles don't stand out from not only each other but also the name of the person who last replied and the bit that says "last reply" which are the same colour!!! and it's difficult to scan up and down the list. All I see when I do is : Today 4:59 Today 3:00
