Beaker, You can get to the lamp from the top. Remove the wood cabinet. Please remember there are 3 screw's. Two screw's on the back part and one at the bottom. Then you have to remove a plast cover over the lamp. The lamp is an E10 socket - 60 volt lamp. Good luck! /Frede
