I was actually cleaning the set while taking the photos, but even before I started it was very, very clean. I hadn't noticed the Present/Precent -typo! Is front-end valve the one in the photos, the ECC85? That sounds familiar, I might even had some (some years ago I got a small lot of valves, most look like NOS, will check again). I am not sure

Do both of the speakers sound the same? What's the source you are playing? (and have you checked the treble/bass -settings on the amp?). Have you tried with a different source?

Excellent post! I replaced some caps on my BL7000 and I tried to see their values from the previous posts on the forum - your post would have made it so much easier! Great photos, too. I hadn't thought of opening the charger/base unit. Looking at the photo I got a wild idea; how about making your own floor stand for the BL7000?! At least four chargers

I received my kit today! Thanks! The material looks great and the instructions included seem simple and clear. Is there any chance of getting the appropriate texts (model name and number) printed to the strips? If the original strip is still around I can cut the text from there and it wouldn't look too bad without it, either but... I will pass the
