As far as I know the problem you discribed can be caused by two problems. One is a defective picturetube, in that case it is not worth repairing. But this is almost never the case. I think there is a problem with the G2 trimmer, this is located on the PCB that is on the picturetube. And that's an easy fix.

I think you might have to disconnect all MCL boxes and connect them one by one to your MCL2P. The MCL units are daisy chained to each other, so if one has a shortcircuit or a dataproblem it might bring down the complete system. Does the MCL2P switch on when you switch on the BeoSound (light turns to Green on MCL2P)? And I guess the MCL2P is connected

In some rare cases the discmotor has too much friction, but mostly with this problem the CD will play in the beginning but will stop further on on the CD. But I would start with the capacitor, it almost always is the cause.
