I have heard on this site about the BM 4500 and 8000 being of superior sound quality and was wondering how some other models sound,such as the BM4000 and 3000.Also I was wondering how some of these stack up against the comparable Japanese units of this era.

I thought I had it accurate,but maybe not,but the good news is,I get to try again.It broke after one too many pushes!I used thin aluminum for the repair and it wasn't strong enough.I now have a piece of steel to use.I assume a limit switch was not being made causing the light to stay on,and the unit not to play? Thanks

Thanks,I tried the external adjustment,didn't do the trick.I guess I will take it back apart and see what's going on.I'm sure it's something simple.

Just got done repairing the broken.left hand hinge as described on another thread.Worked out nicely.Now I have to push down on the upper left corner to get it to play.I this simply the external lid adjustment mentioned in the manual?Or do I need to take it back apart?

Thanks I will be on the lookout for one of these.In the meantime,being the eternal tinkerer, I will still be tweaking my BM2400.I think I will try upgrading that low voltage supply that Dillen mentioned.I can't get over the incredible design of that thing!Oh,I have to correct myself.I mentioned upgrading the crystals mistakenly.I meant the IF filters

You have definately shed some light on this subject.As far as audiophile goes,no wonder my tube amp buddies have stopped talking to me since I got addicted to B&O!LOL.I absolutely love the design of the B&O gear and my goal is to get it sounding as good as it can without going to extremes.As well built as this stuff

I am new to B&O and am enjoying my recapped BM2400 very much.I have replaced many electrolytic caps with Wima MKTs and all others with a mix of high quality audio grade Elna,Nichicon,and Panasonic caps.The questions I would like to bring to the experts on this forum are: a)What,if any,caps can be eliminated entirely? B)I have read somewhere about
