  • Re: Rumor: Apple to offer iTunes Remote App?

Looking forward to iControl (which is what it's been called in the SDK package). I like using Remote Buddy, but any solution that is embedded in the OS is probably going to outperform that.

  • Re: Ice power not quite there yet.

    1. What was the listening room like? It it was a dedicated room, then that validates an impression. If it was a regular speaker setup on a storeroom floor, then there's reason to wonder. 2. Were you standing or sitting? A lot of people who are in stores evaluating equipment remain standing. That means that the top reaches their ears, but does not

  • Re: Sub i 5,1 setup?

  • Signal vs. Remote Buddy

Tried out Signal yesterday. It's a dedicated media remote controller, and is limited to media control. Remote Buddy (RB) in addition delivers interaction with your other applications, though best executed through use of the Apple Remote, or when you use the Apple Remote simulation through RB on iPhones/iPod Touch. I have used Remote Buddy as a Media

  • Re: Mac mini & remote Buddy

You could also consider Salling Clicker - that operates by Bluetooth or WLAN, and gives you good interaction with your sources and programs on a Mac mini. I haven't used Signal - but Remote Buddy is now fully integrated with multiple room playback, in a very elegant way, and I am very happy with it. It gives you control of playback through AppleTV

  • Re: The best remote control ever built!

Thanks, Britops. Yes, the solution proposed in the first link is one way to go, but I don't want to place something over the IR-eye of a BeoCenter 2 or BeoSound 5 to be able to control them. That's OK with an STB or AppleTV which you can hide away, but not with those. So another route to go would be to exploit the dock-connector in the iPod

  • Re: Best deal for 2008 ! Hard to beat!

It's actually a "classifieds" on the net, like Craig's List - but occasionally sellers will post that they want bids. You join for one day, a week or a year. I bought my Beogram 4000 through it, joined for a day, in order to get the sellers contact info, called them and agreed on a price. I picked it up personally, though. They'll

They're asking for bids, DKK 100 is just the starter. You can join dba as a one-day user if you want to get in touch with the seller.

Yes, you'll get the same functionality with a gen1 unit, or an iPod Touch ... I use the latter daily - and only as a remote control and simple way of checking mail, surfing.

  • Re: The best remote control ever built!

You can use either an iPhone or an iPod Touch to get this SDK functionality. I would wait for the 3G iPhone coming on the 11th of July in the UK. The various programs available for them are soon downloadable from the iTunes Store, just as with iPod Touch/iPhone games. You can probably also get the programs from 3rd Party Vendors. I'm waiting for
