    First up - I agree that energy saving bulbs emit an unpleasant and cold light. I collect 1960s and 70s lamps and light fittings, and I use incandescent bulbs in them all because: a) they are the only ones small enough to fit in most cases, and b) the light they emit is much warmer and is available instantly from turning them on.     Beomaster 8000 - the big LED displays do it for me every time! ..closely followed by my RF Avant. I love the way it turns to face me when I power it up. Not that many TVs look so good when turned off. If anything ever happened to it I would go out and get another straight away - no question!

    Not good - gold is not a finish that will have any legs at all I'm afraid. There's no way in 10 years time that any product that's offered in gold will be anything other than 50% cheaper than the more mainstream finishes. Trust me. Leopard skin will be next. Bet Gilroy might like them, but that's about it. Why not bring back some wooden
