In my opinion: 1. Beogram 3000 Thorens - simply the best sounding - extended bass and much better record support than any other more modern Beogram. 2. Beogram 4000 - an engineer's deck. However very very complex and will need servicing by an ever decreasing number of experts. 3. Beogram 4002/4004/6000 - simpler but not simple. The early ones have

I don't think that the BL9 is getting a fair press here. this is a good speaker - I have a frequency response chart and Hi-Fi World review in front of me and they review very well both by the reviewer and the lab. I don't know why your midrange is missing - I suspect a problem with your speakers - it might be worth listening to another pair

The 7000 does have the ability to work both the stand and the surround status. Sound 4 will change the sound set up - you are correct that there is not a default to sound 4 though. Have you downloaded the manual on site?

Agree with the sentiments here. The Avant is now indecently cheap and has a picture to rival any similar size flat screen set on SD broadcasts - in fact it will probably be considerably better. The sound is fantastic and it integrates well with most modern B&O. It works seamlessly with a Sky+ or HD box, so well you would think the box was built

Wel done and a big thanks to Chris who seems to have an inexhaustible supply of parts and generosity! I do like the CDX. I know it uses the TDA1540 DAC which should be antiquated, but it really does sound very good!

Needs a bit of lubrication - look at this thread .

Actually I agree with this opinion too. The present day taste is for detail and this comes across in many speakers, not just B&O, as a degree of stridency. An audiophile will notice the detail, I find it rather tiring. Older B&O speakers are softer and probably a bit veiled for some people, but they are very soothing to listen to. I also agree

Yes - designed for use with Masterlink Gateway really. Should be out in the next few weeks from what I understand. In a fully integrated home automation system, it will allow you to open gates, turn on lights as well as controlling the B&O system on a basic level.

In principle I agree with Dave. In practice, no all dealers are as good as programming. Keith does also offer a service and this will be beyond that of almost all dealers. However the Beo5 is an acquired taste. Mine has been a paperweight. It is no good for digital music, being only one way and too complex for normal TV use. The Beo4/Beolink 1000 is

Any other source. For instance, if you have a DVB-T fitted, you can watch that and analogue. You can also use an external STB or even a DVD or external hard disc. With the advent of hard disc recorders and good time slip technology, I this this is a less useful feature. The BV10 does not have it.
