Lee, how did you get on with the UK CEO?

Nothing to do with 'bandwidth issues' as HDMI is more than capable of handling DTS HD (as DTS HD is 'supported' on my old PS3!). The Blu-ray unit in the BV7-40 MKIV doesn't support DTS HD, even though the unit supplied by Samsung now supports DTS HD with a firmware upgrade. So, it appears that a Blu-ray encoded with DTS HD - and
Not being particularly knowledgeable on all this, I am very sceptical.
You have every right to be sceptical! Let me make this very clear: there is a massive difference between the MKII and MKIII and that is primarily to do with the Beosystem 3 unit that's included in the chassis of the MKIII. The MKIII therefore

That doesn't worry me too much - I'll have the BS5 for that. Mind you, I wonder if B&O are going to re-write their rather confusing online specs? In the UK if something is 'not as advertised' (4 x HDMI sockets, no MP3 support), which is on their site, then we have a right to reject the goods....even months after they've been

You're right: Ver 2.4 Jan. 06, 2009 This Firmware update provides the following benefits: 1. Supports DTS-HD HRA/MA Decoding However, as my dealer is particularly difficult to get to organise software updates under warranty, I hope they don't keep releasing new sw firmware updates every other week, like they did with the MKIII. No idea why B&O
I still maintain that a BeoSystem 3 based system offers the best value in the industry
I agree with most of what you say Trip - and you're a credit to the board - but that's dealer speak. Just because B&O attach a price of £5K+ to the BS3, it doesn't mean that TVs that include the device

The plan changed. I bought an Apple TV from the Apple refurbished store last week (29% off) as they rarely come online, thinking I'd use it as the central music distribution system, rather than my old Mac Mini. Then had a decent offer on a BS5 over the weekend (offer I couldn't refuse), so I decided to go with this. However, I don't think

I need four now I've got an Apple TV (to be connected) and a BS5 on order. Blu-ray drive definitely takes one of them though. Problem! I suppose the PS3 could be used via components if I'm not going to use it for Blu-ray though.
Reward your clients ( loyalty program)
I posed that as a question for the UK CEO last time Beoworld asked some questions. He said that it was an interesting idea and would look in to it. Since then, nothing apart from a price increase! No 'loyalty program' at all, apart form B&O making us feel we're
I've seen the BV7-40 playing a BR-disc this afternoon. One word: WOW ! ! !
Yep, even the BV7-40 MKIII playing a Blu-ray can look very impressive. Dark Knight can't really be beaten. Quantum of Solace is stunning, too. I wonder if they can get any better on the MKIV.
