It does not use Beo4 codes so you will need to have the codes analysed. However I would imagine this is possible - if you have the original remote it will help. The problem will be that you will not get two way control, unlike with the the MCP7700. The 7700 is a splendid machine - right up there with the 8000 system but rather more practical.

I agree completely - a conversion to ICE power will be for cost reasons. These are far cheaper and standardising them across the range would seem to be an obvious move. I see no technical reason why they cannot do this - but the limit will still be the drivers. I doubt there will be much difference in sound quality unless the speakers have a major redesign

Beolab 4000s completely outperform 2500s. The larger volume means that the bass response is much less dependent on changing the characteristic of the amplifiers. The tweeter is also a better quality item. The bald figures show why it is important to listen to speakers!

I would not - the BL2 goes lower and is more powerful. If you like its effect, keep it. The BL11 is possibly going to be better for music but less impressive for LFE in movies. However proof of the pudding will be in the eating! I can see one role of the BL11 as being used with the BV10 when the BV10 is a stand alone set. It will add the bass that the

If it works, £30 is a good price for a 1202.

I always preferred the BV5 - a purer design. The BV10 is in my view even prettier but at a price of sound quality. The 9 was just too big and the asymmetric split of screen and speaker and the ALT lens detracted from the original design. I would still far rather have a BV9 than a BV7 though. And I prefer plasma to LCD.

That should be all - and the cables to connect it of course!

Forgive a sceptic, but doesn't this just mean that the TV will measure sound levels from speakers and construct an automatic level for the room. With a central channel and say 6 speakers and a subwoofer, I cannot see how all seating positions can be in a sweet spot. Willing to be proved wrong of course.

They have stopped making it! All that they have left are those in the system. Right hand not knowing what left hand is doing! I suggest the chap who wrote the AST bit was not privy to the decision and wrote it a couple of weeks ago!
