Frede explained this in the thread about the BeoLab/Master 5000. Two stages of light sanding and a polish with beeswax. In fact, last night I actually did just that, minus the sanding part. Mine were in pretty good shape to begin with. I used beeswax without even realizing it was preferred! (Howard's Feed-n-Wax)

Last night I had some free time and I wanted to make at least a little progress on my 3000-2. But I couldn't because I lost my voltmeter.... So instead I polished/waxed the rosewood lid and it's matching BeoVoxes. Turned out great, looks awesome. Now I want to recover the frets and really dress them up. The Continental Super Sports has got a lot of my attention lately. The gloss red with black wheels is just wicked looking. Especially with the black 'maskera' around the headlamps.
