I was listening to the live version of 'Your Latest Trick' earlier tonight from their greatest hits. Super stuff!
-
Thanks Nigel :) I forgot about that! Chris - have you tried a Cona with some Pentas then??
-
I'd keep it, but you need a decent-sized room really to get any benefit from an amp with 150w p/c. Either MC120.2s or S120s would be a good match (i.e. the BM8000 won't fry them above 2.5). I use Beovox Pentas personally with mine, but they're not going to fit on a bookshelf I'm afraid. The MC/S 120s would though.
-
That's terrible Austin - they're still listed on the MoMa website too :( Have you tried the Penta/Cona combo BTW??
-
Ah! I should have been more patient Martin! If for some reason the new ones don't fit, I'll give you a shout :)

Sorry Moxxey - the 'why not get a Beolit....' was a hypothetical statement about how dealers should offer some choice cuts of older gear to discerning punters, not a direct response to your post. Don't you assume either :) I do agree on the dealer front - no point in talking about them turning a corner based on Beoworlders not spending money

...actually, come to think of it I haven't stopped spending on B&O despite the recession and my transition from well-to-do civil servant to impoverished medical student. It's just a shame that the purchase and repairs to a Beolit 600, Beomaster 6000 Quad and a new pair of Peerless woofers for my MC120.2s weren't made at my local B&O
Are B&O suffering from the recession? I haven't stopped my spending, in fact I have increased it more recently if anything. B&O has a different target audience to mainstream companies offering inferior prodcuts. Simon.
Even from a cursory glance at the TV news, I think you're now definitely

Has anyone any experience of using Beovox Pentas with a Cona? I might be moving somewhere smaller in a few weeks, so am planning on rationalising some of my B&O collection, and unfortunately with a BM6000 Quad on the way shortly I might have to part company with the Beosystem 5000 I'm currently using in my bedroom. I'm loath to part with

Simon - have you thought about an MX1500 instead? No need for a fancy install then.
