  • Re: Upscaling Picture Quality Beosystem 2 vs. 3

It is a kind of unsung hero! The only trace you have of what it actually being there is that everything works properly, the picture is fantastic and the sound is fantastic.

You will never need the Beo4 as well as the Beo5 - the Beo5 can do everything the Beo4 does and heck of a lot more. It just needs configuring correctly!

The BeoSystem 3, as I said, is the best picture processing on the planet. I'm surprised you can't see any difference, I'm constantly amazed how much better the picture is on the BeoVision 4/9 compared to other plasmas on the market. Are you connecting the PS3 via HDMI or via standard definition? The BeoSystem 3 doesn't do as much to the signal if you

darioazul: Dear Alex: What was the verdict of the BeoLab 9 review? Could you post it? Dario It was something along the lines of "very very very good" In fact, even the ever entertaining Whats HiFi? gave them the top possible rating...

Crikes yes. The BeoSystem 3 is by a long looooong way the best picture processing on the market. You'll feel like you've got a new set of eyes. Without a doubt, go for the BeoSystem 3.

  • Re: BEO LAB 5 & BEO SOUND 9000

Although with all this, you can actually still use the digital input when you have a BeoSystem 3 for just listening to CDs.

  • Re: What should I buy?

BL4s to Pentas is a bit of a leap - not just in terms of sound but also in terms of size (even more so). BL4000s are an excellent pair of speakers - so often overlooked.

Evidently it hasn't been set up properly! They're fantastic, but need to be configured properly, which can be difficult on your dealer's behalf (he/she can't know exactly what you want).

  • Re: What should I buy?

moxxey: Why not recommend the BL9's? Bear in mind the original post - he has EUR 2200 to spend,. I know - and a pair of BeoLab 4000s can be picked up for that price ex-demo. Bear in mind I said get the BS4 because you can then later upgrade the speakers - something you can't do with the BeoSound 1.

  • Re: BeoSound 9000

You can try swapping the speakers over. The speakers are active and the amplifiers are built in, and have switches in the connections bay to tell them whether they're left or right (the cables will carry signals for both left and right speakers), so make sure you don't get them muddled up.
