It must be the data sent in the link is different. I do note that the BV10 does not send information to displays on speakers whereas the BV5 does for instance. I guess the chassis is missing some of the more complex features.

I think this would be possible though not easy. There should be plenty of space in the Keracolor set but the chassis will clearly be completely different and the speaker arrangement will also differ. I certainly think that if you are not experienced in TV repair that this will be hazardous!! I think it most likely that the end result will not be something

I would have the BV9 every time! Especially if fitted with some of the extra modules. The other advantage of either the 9 or 7 is that they can act as a video master and have timers built in which the BV10 lacks. This is quite a disadvantage and relies on one having a suitable audio master or a Beocenter 2.

It is an interesting deck - the prototype was even cleverer! I do have one though it has stopped working again! Tim did have a look at it a while ago but it misbehaved very rapidly! We think it is probably based on an Aiwa - Tim did find the machine he thinks it is based on but this is so obscure he has never found one in the flesh! It showed that B&O

I actually have a special SP2 with a bespoke tip from Axel supplied by Frede. Not sure what one would compare it with! I like SP cartridges - the SP12 is a lovely sounding cartridge and this SP2 would seem fairly similar.

One other point - I note you have a Beocenter 9500 or 9300. The BV10 will not work with a Beolink converter so will not link with your audio in a link system.
