• Re: Just got a new Macbook Air

One option would be to tie your server to one of your Macs, and then have the ATV paired with that Mac. You can then access whatever is on the ATV, as well as get access to what's on the server through the Mac. It's still possible to control the ATV or Mac with a Touch or iPhone. The ATV is good for what it does, but it is definitely created

  • Re: Demo CD for B&O - Based on posting Ultimate Track for B&O.

Hi André, interesting! Could you give an indication of what it is each track is supposed to reveal - what we're supposed to listen for? The best Test-CD I've ever come across is No. 3 from Burmester: Selections: 1. A Time For Love - Melissa Walker -- Female voice, good perspective and "depth" - intimacy and detail in voice.

  • Re: Does anybody use 4 BeoLab3 for a surround system ?

I have actually seen photos with four -- I think having five (one center) would be perfect. They're very powerful speakers given their size - I have two now as back surrounds, and on the few occasions that they really get tested they deliver. (They're really wasted as back surrounds - given the moderate info that actually comes through those

I can confirm the signal issue - with RGB in, or HDMI from my ATV, my BV8-26 performs brilliantly - fantastic image.

jk1002: Still happy with the Air. However running Itunes from the Readynas wasn't the best idea I ever had. I was hoping I can store the Itunes Library on it, not just the music files and videos but the library database itself. So that i can share it between Air and my Imac. It's bit slow for that, I guess I have to upgrade my wireless to N

355f: mr_anders_son: YannChris: A larger BV8 would be good idea. In a large bedroom, 32' TVs are a bit small and you don't need all the features of BV7 as bedroom is generally a Link room. Yann. I had BV8-26 in bedroom but I have sold it and shall buy a used Avant 32 instead why did you sell this most wonderful piece of technology from B&O

wirralsimon: Jandyt: Done! Me too! I know you'll have fun. When I got this as a gift, I was told to just clear my schedule one evening, find a bottle of my favourite beverage and just sit down and listen to the concert, from start to finish. That was good advice!

The remastered CDs version of Ellington's Newport concert is very good, and I would recommend that. (It's also available as LP, I have compared both and as it's an extensive concert, with lots of tracks, I find the convenience of CD-playback preferable.) I'm pretty certain that you will not regret the purchase. There are stereo tracks

  • Re: B&O in movies

Saw the film yesterday - enjoyed it. And noticed some familiar bits of kit. Batman spoke in a very loud and intimidating voice - let's not discount that those loudspeakers at the rear may have contributed to some hearing loss!

  • Re: The ultimate track for B&O?

Dynamic as used in describing music refers to the difference between soft/quiet and loud sections. From pp to ff, if you want. A track that crashes and bangs on for 3 minutes plus is not dynamic, it's just loud. In modern music intended for radioplay, etc - the dynamic is more from mezzopiano to mezzoforte than from pianissimo to fortissimo. Many
