If you need some brand new dial cord/string let me know and I'll send you some. It will be in a precut length so make sure you get it right first time as I don't have much left. Have fun and good luck - this isn't the easiest job around and will have you tearing your own hair out if my own experience is anything to go by Chris.

Hi Scott & welcome to Beoworld These are the most fascinating (to me) threads that appear on Beoworld and you have my utmost respect for taking on such a massive task. A fabulous first post which will have myself and others rapt. If there is anything you need - be it parts or advice just ask and myself and others on here will be more than willing
everyone telle me to rip out the insides and put modern gear ...
Whatever you do DON'T do that - you will devalue it instantly if you do. Only serious collectors will pay top money for it if you ever decide to part with it and will want it as original as possible. EDIT - just found THIS on ebay which

That is one for the earlier MMC*000 / MMC20* series cartridges with the spade fittings. Chris.

It is still a little bit of work in progress as I'm waiting for some specialised paint to arrive to recreate the finger pads on the back plate & some replacement rubber feet. I'll post more pic's on completion. As for wanting one, I can quite easily refurb some other casings when I've perfected this. Chris.

The only real way around this (without disconnecting one of the RIAA's) would be to connect the turntable to the AUX input of the 5500 which would lose you the remote control
Very nice! That picture may have just cost me a few hours of work,
The beauty is that all it took was a couple of hours work and a few quid for the paint. It has definately made good use of otherwise pretty ropey parts which were just laying around waiting for the rag & bone man to take them to the great scrap

Having a few rather tatty Beolink 1000 parts sitting around got me thinking about what to do with them so I thought I'd make a bespoke one to match my system 7000. The top plates have been stripped back to bare metal before applying metal etch primer & sprayed with several coats of satin black paint & polished to a piano black finish. The

To be fair to B&O they do stock parts for quite a good few years after production has ended - around 10 years I think but they have to draw a line somewhere. I doubt if many other AV manufacturers can match this. Glad you got your foot Graham Chris.

Very much like the CDX, the CD50 is a superb machine and nearly always repairable. Both of these CD players have a lovely warm tonal quality and are always worth putting some effort into to bring back to full working order. Chris.
