Just because a speaker's specs are the same to another doesn't mean they will sound the same. CX100s are great little speakers but they are by no means a match for the 8000s.

Yes the BeoLab 5s are squillions of pounds in relation to speakers likes the Pentas, but in terms of the sound they produce, I personally rate them as the best on the market in terms of 'sound per pound'. A far out claim I know, but I'm saying it honestly.
-
8000s just sound different - very different, it's up to you which you prefer between the Pentas and the 8000s. The BeoLab 9s are IMO a very very very marked improvement over the Pentas, and the BeoLab 5s are in a completely different league - absolutely no comparison.

Sounds like you should have more of a play with the config tool - I've managed to get it running on a Mac (under Parallels at the moment, works great, looking at getting a completely new tool natively under OS X) and while it's no way near bug-free, there is always a work-around to get it to do what you want!

Craig: Just been trying to get into the foum for the last 20 mins or so. Kept getting an error message, now it looks as though I am the only member online. So I take it others had the same problem. Craig No, it's a conspiracy. We just don't like you here

The most common buttons you use on the Beo4 are the arrows, colours and volume - which are all 'hands on' buttons on the Beo5. Very well designed IMO...

Razlaw: The reason I asked about the Samsung panel is we found a 46 inch Samsung we really like. The BV7 is just a little small for our room, we think. It would work, but we think something larger would be better. The BV9 and BV4-50 are a little big for the wall we will be locating the TV on. We sit between 10 and 12 feet from the TV. We like the BV7

I'm not a fan of these kinda interfaces, it's just a way of making it even more boring to do. All you have to do is think of it and it's done. There's no 'event' to it.

I don't know why people think they need two remotes? The Beo5 can do everything the Beo4 can, and heck of a lot more on top.

Happy Birthday Peter! Any special new toys?
