Actually I have seen this leak out and I agree that this is the likely source, though nicotine is probably there too! No idea how to get it all off though - as Chris says, it is very sticky!

Wait till you can afford it - no-one in the UK has the parts or knowledge to do this the way Frede does. Tim Jarman can certainly fix any problems but he has essentially stopped doing repairs and even he simply does not have the spare parts that Frede does. Frede is a perfectionist and your 5000 will be better than the day it left the factory.

Beomaster 4400/4401. The sweetest sounding Beomaster with plenty of power and made of the best materials. Everything after this was compromised in one way or another. It just beats the Beolab 5000 as the circuit design is better and it is direct coupled. The Beolab 5000 is even better made though.

Yes, you could use this. To attach an equaliser, if you want one, you remove the blanking plug on the Beomaster 6500 and use a 5 pin DIN to 4 RCA lead.

Released about 9/3/2010. It is an 8 pin connector to the Beolab 2 with female RCA plugs for audio input and a 3.5mm mini-jack for 5-12V DC. Part number 6271030 Not sure I can write an article about this though!

You are in luck! B&O have just brought out a converter for this - you do need a DC power source as well. The Beolab 3s connect to the BL2 and the computer connects to the BL2.

I'm working on it!! I have made a start!

I would suggest that there might be a cracked solder joint as this will manifest itself with temperature change. If you are not experienced in TV repairs, get a local repair shop to have a look for you. The voltages in the back of TVs can be lethal.
