It may be posible, but its unbelievable that Lufthansa would sell fakes onboard their flights, I think that maybe the first 1 or 2 years B&O sold in the black box and later changed the packing, I bought mine 2001.

In my BM 901 I have these white caps, EVOX, the 901 was made until 1977, the M 70 production started 1975, so it may be original.

For the strip, I would use Andres good advise and check with a thread counter. The potis, take them apart (difficault)and if you have the pieces, glue whats broken, and clean everything, or Martin for the used ones.

Just keep in mind: Should you add any other future device(s) (e.g.) a BeoVision, etc... that is linked to the BC2 -you *may* need reprogram depending on the setup you choose.
The only question I have now about these A8's is the black box. Does it or does it not belong to the original B&O packing? For the leather pouche in most cases you can clearly see the difference.
I bought mine some years ago on an airplane and it came in the black box just as shown in the pic

@Gunther and or who wants to comment, jokes are welcome. Got a little confused, you are using component values in your good explanations, I was thinking in schematic numbers, but I got it all clear now, but will not be able to do more before Friday. I didn't find the TR697/8, what I can get here without problems is TIP122 and TIP127, will there
