I am informed that the last few software updates for the Beolab 5 are as follows:- Version 3.00a is the latest, but apparantly cannot be used in older Beolab 5's meaning units with a serial number prior to 21221146 will never be able to have version 3.00a This means that members with units before the above serial number can only have their software

Nick, I suggest you try and get a Mark II model and replacement covers can be purchased for around £15 Covers are available for both versions and are basically the same.

Graham, I have had a quick look at the circuit setup and you problem will be less with the hardware, but the software would be your problem and one you would not be able to resolve. May I suggest you get a pre-owned DVD1 and plug it into one of the SCART sockets, then you have the solution and fully controlled with the Beo4
