It could be the rubber "zebra" strip between the PCB & display at fault. These shouldn't be handled so dropping it in water may well have goosed it. Chris.

I would certainly have the 8000 over the 5000 - but be aware they do take up a lot of space. Chris.

Hi jf and welcome to Beoworld As jan has already pointed out the BM5000 is a lovely amp but limited to the remote control that can operate it. As well as the MCP5000 however there is also the option of the Terminal 5000 which is much smaller and far more useful for day to day operations. Ray, it could be your lucky day - I'm pretty certain I have a mint-ish platter from a BG5000 which is the same as used on the BC7700. I'll have a look for it tomorrow. Chris.
